The Double Standard
I am looking to buy a car now, so I went to this car dealership to check out prices. I guess they must have saw "fresh meat" written across my face because I was approached by this salesman that reminded me of the devil trying to negotiate a deal for me to sell my soul. Since this was not my first experience with used car dealerships I kept my cool, made sure I displayed knowledge of what I wanted and stayed focus on what I wanted without coming on too strong. The car's price was initially 11K, by the time I was through with negotiations, the price had went down to 8K. Pretty good, huh? I still could not help wondering if I were a man would I have been approached in that way or would I've had to try so hard to prove my wits. I still didn't buy the car because I felt so pressured and because I found the same car, cheaper, somewhere else. Why is there STILL a double standard in that regard.? Women have truly evolved.
